Loving Our Community

As we live out the will of God by faith, we believe that we should have an positive/godly impact on the community in which we live, work and play.  The prophet Jeremiah explains this process: Jer 29:5-7  Build houses and dwell in them; plant gardens and eat their fruit.  (6)  Take wives and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands, so that they may bear sons and daughters—that you may be increased there, and not diminished.  (7)  And seek the peace of the city...for in its peace you will have peace.

Below are some of the opportunities to join us on this mission.

Clothing MINISTRY

Our Clothing Ministry is a great place to get involved in serving and loving our community.  Each Thursday we give away clothes to those in need.  On average we supply about 300 families a month with clothes and home goods as we fill this vital niche of those who have suffered loss in fires, water damage, or are transition.

Newlife Fish Ministry

This is a great cooperative ministry within Cowlitz County.  Our volunteers minister by acquiring and dispensing food to those who are struggling with hunger, loss and transition.

We partner with 18 chuyrches in the Longview area to provide 100 people a week with meat, eggs, milk, peanut butter, bread and other needed food items.

Our volunteers serve with joy and compassion to impact our community.

Food is given the 2nd Thursday of each month. map

Newlife Jail Ministry

One of the simple Biblical teaching revealed by Jesus was to visit those in prison/jail.  Despite the circumstances or the past history, Jesus is still the good news for those in tough seasons.

Every last Sunday of the month we take a team of evangelizing, preaching, teaching volunteers in to our local jail to provide hope, guidance, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ for our local inmates.

Interested in joinuing the team? Cross   Membership is required for this ministry.

School Supplies For Local Schools

We take time each beginning of the school year to pray for our local schools, teachers and students.

We also want to be a blessing to those who find themselves struggling with the economy.

We collect school supplies and deliver them a few days prior to school starting so that kids will have the necessary supplies to start the year off right.

When summer is coming to an end, plan to do your part and join us in being generous!

Fall Fun Fest

Every October around the end of the month our church transforms into a whimsical, safe, fun and dry place for our local children to join us for costumes, carnival style games, inflatable bounce houses, snowcones and lots of fun!

We have a large group of volunteers who do set-up/clean-up, and those who help supervise the games and distribute candy.  Will join us this October?  Mask

Compassion Kits

While we cannot possibly stop the homeless issue, we can be people that stand in the gap and do what we are called to do by Jesus - mercy and compassion.

We have a list of items that are routinely in need of by our local homeless/transient population.

Our strategy is that each of us have one gallon ziplock bags ready in our vehicles to meet the need of those who are currently without.  Here is our list of suggested items:

Toothpaste - toothbrust - dental floss - Q-tips - wet wipes - Neosporine - bandaids - cotton balls - comb/brush - soap - shampoo - lotion - feminine hygiene products - socks - water bottle - soft granola/protein bars - gloves - hats
